Facebook is focused on improving the “Facebook Live” feature as more and more users are going live every day. From last few days, there were rumors that Facebook is working on a “Screen Sharing” feature. Today, Facebook started rolling out the feature to its users. This will help you share screen on Facebook Live without using any third party software.
This is extremely helpful for those who do webinars, live sessions with teams and also for regular users doing a group session on Facebook Live. To share screen on Facebook Live all you need to do is install an official “Facebook Screen Sharing” extension on a Chrome browser. For now, it is available only for Chrome browser, but we hope to see this coming to more browsers soon.
Also, this option is not available in every region/country at the time of writing this post. So, if you have the feature then as soon as you Go Live, you will see a new option to “Share Screen“. To share your screen just click on the option and it will ask you to add the “Facebook Screen Sharing” extension to your browser. You just need to install this for the first time. That’s it, you can start sharing your full screen, a specific tab or app window as per your selection.
It is certainly a good move by Facebook as they realize the importance of “Facebook Live” in near future for different industries and users. At the moment, the video quality during the screen sharing is not that good, but we hope to see some improvements in near future.
