OnePlus 5 was released with a lot of hype all around the web and it actually turned out to be a success for OnePlus. Every YouTuber and Tech website discussed the strengths of the device, like Processor, Display, Design & most importantly dual cameras. But, some of them also discussed the major flaw in the 4k video recording. While shooting a 4k video the EIS of the device stops working resulting in a shaky video.
Now, as promised by the Co-Founder of OnePlus Carl Pei in one of his tweets a month back, the company came out with a OnePlus 5 update (4.5.7) which will provide EIS at 4K video recording.
In this update, OnePlus provided some other important fixes as well. Like, sound leaks from speakers, camera shutter sound during silent mode (only for Indian region) and missing sound channels during video recording. The missing sound channels might fix the “hiss” sound which comes even when you shoot in a silent room.
This OTA update will reach a small number of users today (2nd August) and will be rolled out for every OnePlus 5 user soon. So, for now, you can check the update on your device for Oxygen OS 4.5.7 which is of 310mb. If you are not able to see this update on your device, then check the OnePlus 5 update thread on the Official Forum of OnePlus.
We do hope that this update for OnePlus 5 might fix the major problems in the device and make it perfect choice in this price range. Because hey, 4K video stabilization at this price point is like icing on the cake and this was the only issue which was holding back many potential buyers.
