Jio 4G Offer is Ending on 31st March. But, Not Completely

2

Reliance jio 4g offer is extended till June 2017 – Yes, you read it right. Reliance jio is now known for giving surprises and becoming un-stoppable. Last year Mr. Ambani announced the “Happy New Year” offer which extended the validity of unlimited jio 4g offer till March 31st 2017 and it was available for every new and existing jio subscriber.

This time again, reliance jio gave us a sweet surprise of offer extension till June 30th 2017. This deal sounds sweet, but there is a small condition if you want to use 1GB 4g internet every day till June 2017. You have to recharge your jio number with 100 rupees every month to avail this offer.

Now, you must be thinking that why they implemented this condition when they are already giving 4G internet for FREE? The reason is that, other telecom providers such as Airtel, Vodafone and Idea were not happy with the way Reliance jio was throwing away 4g data to its users for Free.

Every company pays a hefty price for data spectrums, 4g spectrums are the costlier among all. So, providing free data puts lots of pressure on the overall data traffic, which impacts the services of other providers.

trai against jio

First, Airtel moved to the Telecom Dispute Tribunal in December complaining about the extended Free 4G offer by reliance and then Idea moved to TDSAT with the same complaint.

To counter this, reliance jio will be offering unlimited 4g internet with a capping of 1Gb per day in 100 rupees for the next 3 months. In this way, they are trying to comply with the terms and conditions of TRAI while keeping their customers happy. Practically, its still a Free 4g offer as the users will be more than happy in spending 300 rupees for 3 months of 4g data.

Although, we are still waiting for the official announcement for Reliance. But, the rumors are being confirmed by the reliable sources working with Reliance.

But yes, jio still needs to go a long way in improving their call quality and 4g connectivity in smaller towns or villages. Even now, they are struggling to add more towers in some towns and villages for better 4g speed and call connectivity. We believe that these extensions of 4g offers are nothing more than a way of gaining more time to improve their services.
